What was meant to be a quiet romantic getaway took a dramatic turn in Abuja after a man was allegedly left stunned when a woman he checked into a hotel with reportedly disappeared with his car and other personal belongings.
The incident occurred at a hotel in the Asokoro area of the Federal Capital Territory, where the man and the lady, identified as Precious Chinyere, had lodged for a short-time stay. According to accounts, the pair checked in earlier in the day without incident.
Trouble reportedly began later in the evening when the man noticed that Precious had quietly left the hotel room without informing him. Further checks allegedly revealed that she had made away with several of his valuables, including his mobile phones, laptop, and his car, leaving him stranded and in shock.
The distraught victim promptly reported the matter to the police, triggering an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged disappearance and theft.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that the case has been formally reported and is currently under investigation. She assured that efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend the suspect, while police work to recover the stolen items.
The incident has since sparked conversations online about trust, personal safety, and the risks associated with private hotel encounters, as residents await further updates from law enforcement authorities.
