MADE IN BENUE OVERVIEW

Benue state is known to be one of the most blessed states in Nigeria, with an abundance of talents, but the unfortunate reality on ground had always been the lack of big platforms for these talents to explore their gifts and grow.

To bridge this gap and create a platform that will help showcase the Benue talent, the Made in Benue (MIB) idea was birthed in 2016 by Woodhouse Entertainment Limited, a company registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

The company is headed by Ikon Orduen Andrew (aka O.D Woods), a notable personality in the Nigerian Entertainment industry, and regarded as one of Benue’s Finest export in that industry. His art was accepted in the biggest entertainment market in Nigeria, Lagos state, some years ago, giving him the needed influence to pioneer the Made in Benue project as a way of reaching out to his people back in the state.

The MIB event holds annually on the 27th of December, and has had four editions so far. The event sees to the coming together of the Benue people to celebrate, appreciate, and acknowledge their sons and daughters that are doing great in their various fields. MIB is a platform created by the Company to unite and assess the growth of the people during the year while scouting for new talents and skills to expose to the world.

Made in Benue is a week of social awareness and youth empowerment festival, hosting visitors, trainers, potential investors and mentors from various fields. These individuals include Musical Artistes, Fashion Designers, Athletes, Producers, Dancers, Event Hosts, Disk Jockeys, etc.

They help identify promising talents and then the talents are connected with the mentors and trainers, who help them develop and monetize their craft.

The weeklong activities include modelling, talent/creativity hunt, fashion show, poetry, handcraft, music, etc.
